The Photo Genesis Difference
Photo Genesis treats skin redness, brown spots and sun damage without discomfort or topical anesthetic. The pulsed light system provides noticeable results in as little as one to two treatments.
What areas can be treated?
The treatment is safe for most areas with uneven skin tone, redness or sun and age spots. Areas with the most sun exposure, including the face, shoulders, chest and arms are the most common treatment areas. Freckled areas, excessively ruddy complexions and brown spots also respond well to treatments.
What does the treatment do?
Photo Genesis treats redness and sun damage by delivering visible light to the pigmented areas. The light then heats the cells, providing a therapeutic, transforming effect.
Will I need to have an anesthetic?
Unlike other treatments, Photo Genesis does not require topical anesthetic or messy gels prior to treatment.
What do the treatments feel like?
Most patients do not experience significant pain during treatments. The handpiece feels cool and comfortable when placed on the skin. Some people feel a brief, mild pinching sensation as the pulse of light is being delivered.
How long do the treatments take?
The treatments only take a few minutes to complete and easily fit within a lunch hour.
How many treatments will I need?
Many patients experience noticeable results in as little as one to two treatments. Large, dark spots, densely freckled areas or excessively damaged skin may require additional treatments.
What happens after the treatment?
You may notice a slight reddening of the surrounding skin or darkening of the spots immediately following treatment and typically subsides within a few hours. Darkened spots will begin to fade and flake off and your complexion will clear within one to three weeks following treatment. For complete information on the risks and benefits of treatment, please consult your medical professional.
When will I see results?
Your complexion will appear clearer and more vibrant within two to three weeks of treatment. Many patients experience final results around a month after treatment.
Will the spots and redness reappear over time?
Significant sun exposure may cause new spots to appear over time, and can be removed. Liberally applying sunscreen when outdoors will minimize sun damage as well as prevent new spots and excessive redness.
