Tattoo Removal FAQ
Tattoos have grown in popularity significantly in recent years. The culture of tattooing has shifted from a practice relegated to hard-edged subgroups like bikers to a widely accepted form of body art that over 20% of the general population proudly displays. With tattoos on the rise the demand to remove them has increased as well. Whether it be a shift in personal preference or the demands of a professional career, more people are looking for solutions to remove their tattoo. Laser Tattoo Removal has proven to be the safest and most effective form of tattoo removal. The Tri-Beam system increases the safety profile of the treatment and delivers fast results patients demand.
How Does Tri-Beam Laser Tattoo Removal Work?
With laser tattoo removal, the type of laser selected for the treatment is extremely important. Tri-Beam utilizes the safest wavelength available for the effective removal of tattoos. The light is delivered to the tattoo so rapidly that the ink is broken up into tiny particles. These fragmented ink particles are safely cleared by the body through its own processes. The tattoo will fade after each treatment.
Can you describe the treatment process?
In most cases, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the skin prior to the treatment to help with the comfort. The laser is applied to the tattoo creating a “frosting” effect that results in white discoloration. As the “frosting” subsides the tattoo appears reddish. The treatment usually takes between 5 and 15 minutes depending on the size of the tattoo. Afterward, antibiotic ointment is applied to the treatment area and the tattoo is covered with gauze.
What Does Tri-Beam Tattoo Removal Feel Like?
Some would compare the sensation to the snap of a rubber band. The use of cold air and topical numbing greatly reduces the discomfort associated with laser tattoo removal. In addition, Tri-Beam has a proprietary mode called Rich-PTP™ that maximizes the speed and comfort level of the treatment.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Every patient and tattoo is different. Homemade tattoos with dark ink can be removed in just a few sessions spread 6 weeks apart. Professional tattoos are usually deeper, larger and vary in color. These usually require more sessions. Talk with your medical provider about the estimated number of treatments required for your tattoo.
What Kind of Side Effects Are Associated With This Treatment?
While rare, the occasional lightening of the skin around the tattoo can occur. If this occurs, it may take about 6 to 12 months to return back to your normal skin color. If you have been diagnosed with a light sensitivity disease or an autoimmune disorder, talk with your doctor before starting the treatment.
I have received excellent services provided by Dawn. She is always professional while being personable enough to make you feel comfortable. I have received laser hair removal, tattoo removal, and scar treatment utilizing the skin p.i.n. I feel like all of the equipment is top of the line and I am VERY happy with my results. I highly recommend this business and will definitely use them again in the future. I really can’t say enough good things about my experience (which could have been very awkward).Casie M.
